Chrysler to invest $114 million, reopen Trenton North engine plant

Chrysler News-Chrysler Group LLC announced today it plans to invest $114 million to reopen part of the shuttered Trenton North engine plant — a move that will allow the company to keep 268 jobs there.
The Downriver engine plant, which produced V-6 engines, will now create core components for Chrysler's new Pentastar engine. The plant had 464 employees before it closed...From The Detroit News:

Fiat Not Interested In Opel - CEO


GAVI, Italy (Dow Jones)--The head of Fiat SpA (F.MI) Tuesday said he wasn't interested in buying General Motors Co.'s (GM) Opel unit, despite reports about the U.S. car maker being open to the idea of selling it.
After giving up trying to take over Opel a few years ago, the Italian automaker has been focusing attention on merging with its U.S. partner, Chrysler Group LLC, but Fiat Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne expressed to reporters reluctance at taking over the stake held by the last major shareholder, the union's trust fund VEBA....More
