Chrysler Helps Alfa Romeo Return To America


Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler Group LLC chief executive, gave his clearest indication yet yesterday that the Alfa Romeo brand may make a return to the North American market as the Detroit automaker continues to look for ways to integrate its new partner, Fiat SpA.

The bulk of Chrysler's sales in Canada still stem from its trucks and minivans. But the automaker is hoping to add some sex appeal to its car offerings with Fiat products in the years ahead, including the introduction of the Fiat 500 in showrooms later this year....More

2011 FIAT 500 Chicago AutoShow


2011 FIAT 500: As part of Chrysler Group’s recovery plans in the United States, the 2011 Fiat 500 will be sold by its dealers later this year. The subcompact will be the first of several Fiat products to be sold here. The new 500 will be modified for this market, built in Mexico with 1.4 liter 4-cylinder engines built in Michigan.

Chrysler gets extension to try to save Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, 1,200 jobs


Chrysler is negotiating to buy the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant from its bankruptcy estate and save about 1,200 jobs that were expected to be eliminated at the end of 2010.
Sterling Heights City Council last month voted Jan. 19 to extend $7.4-million property in tax abatements to encourage Chrysler to keep the plant open as well as a nearby center where parts are organized before being taken to the production line.....More
